A red flag fire warning is in effect until 9 p.m. for much of Oklahoma, as firefighters brace for a busy day with temperatures climbing into the mid-to-upper-80s.
Those temperatures, along with low humidity and gusty winds mean fire conditions are extremely critical across the state.
Counties included in the warning are Alfalfa, Atoka, Blaine, Bryan, Caddo, Canadian, Carter, Cleveland, Coal, Comanche, Cotton, Garfield, Garvin, Grady, Grant, Hughes, Jefferson, Johnston, Kay, Kingfisher, Lincoln, Logan, Love, Marshall, McClain, Murray, Noble, Oklahoma, Payne, Pontotoc, Pottawatomie, Seminole and Stephens.
