State School Superintendent Ryan Walters has announced what he calls a 'complete overhaul' of Oklahoma's Social Studies standards in public schools.

He says the revised standards will inspire in students a love of country and a 'proper' understanding of the founding of America.

Walters says they will incorporate the introduction of the Bible as an instructional resource, as was announced last week, and will ensure that social studies reflect accuracy and not politically slanted viewpoints.

House Democrats are calling the new standards a violation of Constitutional rights and say they promote American 'exceptionalism'.
