Historic Opioid Settlement

State Attorney General Mike Hunter announced Tuesday that Purdue Pharma will pay the state of Oklahoma $270 million to be dropped from the state's lawsuit against drug manufacturers accusing them of fueling the opioid crisis. Hunter says most of the payment will establish an endowment at the OSU Center for Wellness and Recovery, to be used for treating the ongoing addiction epidemic statewide. He says the trial against the remaining defendants named in the state's lawsuit remains on track for May 28.
