Some state lawmakers are looking at ways to increase business and boost the economy in rural areas.
Oklahoma Department of Commerce Deputy Secretary Jamie Hererra said agri-tourism could be one key element to consider for expansion.
"There's a natural relationship between commerce and tourism. So, we've partnered with (the Department of) Tourism to develop a strategic plan based on tourism regions," Hererra said.
During Tuesday's interim study, lawmakers also talked about possible incentives to attract more businesses to rural Oklahoma.
