Marlatt Resigns

Republican State Senator Bryce Marlatt of Woodward has resigned from office. His attorney says Marlatt submitted his resignation to Governor Mary Fallin on Tuesday. It is effective immediately. Earlier on Tuesday, Marlatt surrendered at the Oklahoma County jail on one felony count of sexual battery. He was released on $5,000 bail. He is accused of forcefully grabbing and kissing an Uber driver during a trip in June. If convicted, Marlatt faces up to 10 years in prison.
