(Washington, DC)  --  President Obama says the U.S. "should take military action against Syria."  In a statement from the Rose Garden, the President said he is prepared to give the order to launch U.S. missile strikes.  Obama also announced that he will seek authorization from Congress.  He said, "We should have this debate."

Obama insisted that the U.S. has presented a "powerful case" that the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is responsible for a recent chemical weapons attack that killed more than a thousand people, including children.  Obama called it a horrific attack an "assault on human dignity."
